Jim CappsRev. Jim Capps, Interim Pastor

Hello, I'm Jim Capps and I joined ZPC as interim pastor in September of 2011. My wife Alice and I have one daughter, Becky who is married to Austin. They live in Orlando and are expecting their first child in April 2012. Before stepping in as interim pastor,  I was senior pastor of Southport Presbyterian Church and have most recently served as the interim senior pastor at First Presbyterian Church San Antonio.

I've been in ministry for more than 40 years, and have served on the Board of Kairos Prison Ministry International and have been a spiritual director on two Kairos events in Maghaberry Prison just outside of Belfast, Northern Ireland. I've also served as a spiritual director on approximately 80 Great Banquet type weekends and helped lead 13 building campaigns in the churches I have served. I look forward to meeting you!

Scott Shelton 2010Rev. Scott Shelton, Associate Pastor of Discipleship

Hello, I’m Scott Shelton. I joined the ZPC staff in 1994 and am responsible for overseeing ministry to families.

This means working with all of our other ministries to weave together new and existing programs which teach and support Christ-centered marriages, parenting, and family relationships. I enjoy working with families of all ages and stages to help them think creatively how they can live out their faith at home and make a difference in the world.

I am a graduate of Baylor University with B.S. Degrees in Finance and Marketing and received my Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. The most important family I work with is my own—my best friend and wife Claire and my four kids—Jacob, Lexia, Luke and Graham.

Rev. Dr. Pat Smith, Associate Pastor of Discipleship

Pat SmithHi, I’m Pat Smith: a listener, encourager, and friend as I seek to be a faithful follower of Jesus.

My twin passions are helping people know the love of God and learn to live the way of Jesus.  This way of Jesus life is costly, fulfilling, deep and marked by surrender, peace and obedience.  It is the life for which we were made.

I get to live out these passions in the ZPC context with our staff Adult Ministry Team, the Worship Team, the Mission Commission and the Board of Deacons.

My wife, Laura, and I are the proud parents of two sons. Elder son Caleb is Director of Youth Ministries at The Bridge in Ruston, Louisiana. He and his wife, Tisha have two sons, Jackson and Tucker. Younger son Andrew is Director of Epicurean Escapes for EverGreen Escapes in Seattle, Washington.

Since earning my masters at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, we’ve invested in ministry in Atlanta, Georgia, Knoxville, Tennessee, Frankfort, Indiana, Montgomery, Alabama and, since 2006, Zionsville.
