Mexico Caravan

Our partnership and project:

The ZPC 2011 Mexico Caravan is an opportunity for high school students and adults to travel to Mexico for a work project.  Ten years ago ZPC started a partnership with the Presbytery of Quintana Roo in order to plant churches up and down the beautiful Mayan Riviera.  One of the church plants that ZPC originally helped was ‘Nueva Jerusalem’ in Playa Del Carmen.  This summer’s Mexico Caravan will find our students literally building the physical sanctuary for the Nueva Jerusalem church.  They will be setting the hundreds of concrete blocks that will make up the first story of the church’s new two story building.  Our students will also be helping the people of the Nueva Jerusalem church as they get started with their own brand new church plant, ‘Jesus, Light of the World’.

Lodging:

We expect a group of 30-40 people which will include 7-10 adults.  The group will be staying in the brand new Nueva Jerusalem Sunday school building for the beginning of the week, and then in the Hotel Maranatha at the end of the week.

Safety:

We are very excited about the opportunity for our youth to help plant these churches this summer.  We have done extensive research to insure the safety of all of the group participants and are very confident about the safety of flying into Cancun and travelling in the Playa Del Carmen area.  Here are a few current resources that address these issues as well as a video that was shot by Chris Malott at the two church sites in Playa Del Carmen over this past Christmas break:

Forms and registration:

As plane tickets are being purchased in March, all monies will be due by Sunday April 17 and will be non-refundable. Each participant MUST travel with a passport. Please turn in money, signed permission slip and a copy of your insurance card to:
