Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic (NCLC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation offering pro bono legal representation and preventive law education to low income families, including immigrant families. ZPC is proud to partner with NCLC beginning in January of 2012.
The clinic will commence on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church of Lebanon (map) and Saturday, January 14, 2012 at ZPC (map).
Every Saturday morning, volunteer attorneys will conduct an interview, called an intake session, through which new clients can present their needs. To qualify for free legal services, a person needs to be living at or below 125% of the federal poverty guidelines, except for tax cases where the limit is 250%.
Next, volunteer attorneys start the evaluation process to see if there is some way we can help. If there is something potentially we can do to help, a volunteer attorney will refer the case to an expert in the specific subject matter for further review. These experts work at the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic in Indianapolis.
The clinic will not handle divorce or criminal cases. Typical cases the clinic does handle includes:
