Joan Gall [317.896.5385]

The collection of books, videos, DVDs, Bible studies, and reference tools in the church library are available as a continuing resource for families and individuals. We aim to encourage discipleship by providing a variety of relevant resources that honor God, renew minds and nourish the spiritually hungry. The Library Team regularly adds  materials, reviews donated books, makes specially requested purchases, and keeps our growing collection in good order so that everyone may benefit.

Session Meeting minutes are now available in the library for in-house use.

Thank you, ZPC members and friends, for supporting the "Fall Into Books" campaign. Your contributions have added dozens of new titles to our Children's Collection. Stay tuned for the "Spring Into Reading" campaign, an opportunity to enrich the adult collection.

Library Hours

The library is generally accessible when the church is open: weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm most weeknights and every Sunday morning. A member of the library team will be on hand most Sundays to assist library patrons and answer questions.

NEW NON-FICTION

"Trusting God; Even when Life Hurts"
Author Jerry Bridges asks readers, Why is it easier to obey God than to trust Him? When unexpected situations arise that appear unjust, irrational, or even dreadful, we feel confused and frustrated. Often we begin to doubt God's concern for us or His control over our lives. In an effort to strengthen his own trust in God during a time of adversity, Jerry Bridges began a lengthy Bible study on the topic of God's sovereignty. What he learned changed his life, and he now shares the fruit of that study with us in Trusting God.

"Crazy Love - It's crazy, if you think about it."
The God of the universe loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response: We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss. Does something deep inside your heart long to break free from the status quo? God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself. Because the answer to religious complacency isn't working harder at a list of do's and don'ts - it's falling in love with God. When you're wildly in love with someone, it changes everything.

"Finding the Groove"
Using brilliant metaphors from the world of jazz, jazz theologian, Robert Gelinas reveals breathtaking possibilities for the body of Christ. What might a "jazz-shaped faith" look like - and how could it help us fulfill the message of the gospel in a way no method, movement, or structured program ever could? How can understanding the beauty of jazz help you better understand Jesus, his vision for those who follow him, and his heartbeat for a world that is badly out of sync? This book isn't about music. It is about a passionate, biblical, fully integrated way of looking at life and salvation that will free you to find your own unique groove in the kingdom of God.

"Respectable Sins; Confronting the Sins We Tolerate"
Have Christians become so preoccupied with the major sins of our society that we have lost sight of our need to deal with our own more subtle sins? Jerry Bridges returns to his trademark theme of holiness and addresses a dozen clusters of specific "acceptable" sins that we tend to tolerate in ourselves - such as jealousy, anger, pride, unthankfulness, and judgmentalism. Jerry writes not from a height of spiritual accomplishment but from the trenches of his own battles with sin. In his admonitions, Jerry offers a message of hope in the profound mercy of the gospel and the transforming grace of God as the means to overcome our subtle sins.

"The Reason For God"
As the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, Timothy Keller has compiled a list of the most frequently voiced "doubts" skeptics bring to his church. In "The Reason for God," he singlehandedly dismantles each of them. Keller uses literature, philosophy, real0life conversations and reasoning to explain how faith in a Christian God is a soundly rational belief, held by thoughtful people of intellectual integrity with a deep compassion for those who truly want to know the truth.

"The Prodigal God"
Timothy Keller has been called a "C.S. Lewis for the twenty-first century" by Newsweek magazine in a feature on his first book, "The Reason for God." Now, in "The Prodigal God," he uses one of the best-known Christian parables to reveal an unexpected message of hope and salvation. Taking his trademark intellectual approach to understanding Christianity, Keller uncovers the essential message of Jesus, locked inside his most familiar parable. Within that parable Jesus reveals God's prodigal grace toward both the irreligious and the moralistic. This book will challenge both the devout and skeptics to see Christianity in a whole new way.

"The Hole in Our Gospel"
Richard Stearns, President of World Vision U.S, asks the question, What Does God Expect of Us? His own answer changed his life and he writes that it might just change the world. "The Hole in Our Gospel" is the compelling true story of a corporate CEO who set aside worldly success for something far more significant, and discovered the full power of the gospel of Jesus Christ to change his own life. He uses his journey to demonstrate how the gospel - the whole gospel - was always meant to be a world-changing social revolution, a revolution that begins with us.

"The Total Money Makeover; A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness"
Dave Ramsey follows up his previous book, "Financial Peace" that gave readers the solid saving and investing principles, with this book that puts those principles into practice. Using God's way of handling money Dave teaches us to design a sure-fire plan for paying off all debt, recognize the 10 most dangerous money myths and secure a big, fat nest egg for emergencies and retirement!
