Who Can Say What God is Thinking?

Everywhere we turn, people are eager to speak for God. Some are convinced that their personal experience reveals God’s will. Others rely on tradition. Still others look to science and social research. When the early Church faced the biggest question of its young existence – Do Gentiles first have to become Jews in order to become Christians? – the apostles sought God’s voice in experience, in the perspectives of wise people, but above all in God’s Word. We are called to do the same.
