About the author: Cara Grimes and her husband Shawn have been members of ZPC for 6 years. We have a daughter, Olivia, who is almost 14 years old. About 13 years ago, we took a bold step and moved to Indiana from Hilton Head Island, SC and have been blessed during our time here. One of those blessings is our church family at ZPC. We love our church!

Today's Scripture: Psalm 16

You show me the path of life. In your presence there is a fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11 (New Revised Standard Version)

Recently at work, my team was asked to create a digital collage of “what fills your cup.” Over the course of a week, everyone on the team worked on their individual cup masterpieces and then we shared it on one of our team WebEx calls. Here is mine…and yes, that is the Tiger King on there. It is a guilty pleasure to watch.

My husband, daughter, other family members, friends, church, time outside, riding my bike, and thoughts of traveling at some point in time bring a smile to my face. The people are who I love with all my heart. The other cup fillers just make me happy.

Reflecting on Psalm 16:11, it is a beautiful verse displaying David’s confidence in God. I have to think from this verse that David’s cup is overflowing with the security of salvation and his “fill your cup” collage would show the joy of that security.

Looking back now, there are a couple of things that I would change on “my cup” with Psalm 16:11 in mind. This verse reminds me of the fullness of God and the wonderful truth that true joy can be had when we fully engage in God’s presence.

My ask today is to take time to reflect on how you are engaging in God’s presence. Also, think about things that fill your cup. Maybe even do a collage!

The poem below is a beautiful reflection on being in God’s Holy Presence.

In God’s Holy Presence

By Deborah Ann

In God’s holy presence,
there’s joy in its fullness
pleasures circulating
His everlasting goodness.

There is peace and hope,
a spreading of refreshing
an ongoing revolving
of life-changing blessings.

In God’s holy presence,
there’s mercy restoring
upon the Holy Spirit’s
heart filling outpouring.

There’s an internal calm,
an outgoing of favor
the ongoing flowing
of grace from a Savior.

In God’s holy presence,
here and above . . .
there’s an effortless flow
of steadfast love!

May God bless you all!
