Sing! Daughter of Zion shout aloud, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, Daughter Jerusalem. The Lord has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy Zephaniah 3
God wages a siege of his own, in the form of mercy and grace in the face of his unrepentant people. His jealousy speaks with tenderness and ferocity, desiring his people to see what he sees: the way to walk with him again. And where this chosen people hardened their hearts in the face of this Almighty God of Love, this same God calls us to draw near to him as he drew near to us in Jesus.
May we see him beckoning us toward him to walk with him as he always desired for it to be. May we rejoice, rejoice, rejoice in Emmanuel – God, who came near to be with us.
