Second Sunday in Advent: Peace

 LISTEN TO TODAY'S READING

“Behold I send my messenger, and he will prepare
the way before me. And the Lord whom you seek
will suddenly come to his temple; and the
messenger of the covenant in whom you delight,
behold, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts. But
who can endure the day of his coming, and who
can stand when he appears? For he is like a
refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap.
Malachi 3

How do we find peace in a passage such as this?
In a season full of color but also dark and gray.
In a season full of wonder but also stress and worry.
In a season where we must slow down, to
remember, but we are so busy.
Can we slow down?

For the one who listened to the messenger and
anticipated the coming of the Lord of hosts – it is
they who will find peace. They trust in the Lord and
know that he holds all things.

Be. At. Peace.
