Lent is a season that invites believers to slow down and rest in God’s presence. Lasting forty days (not counting Sundays), Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and leads up to Easter. It reflects the forty days Jesus Christ spent in the wilderness—a time marked not by rushing or striving, but by quiet dependence on God.
With a focus on rest, Lent becomes an invitation to release what exhausts us and return to what restores us. Rather than adding more to our already full lives, this season encourages simplicity, intentional pauses, and practices that ground us in God’s grace. Prayer, reflection, and gentle self-examination help us notice where we are weary and where God is offering renewal.
Here are some Lenten activities at ZPC:

Maundy Thursday | Thursday, April 2 | 6 pm | Sanctuary
Maundy Thursday marks the night when we remember Jesus Christ’s final meal with his disciples. On this night, Jesus shared bread and cup, washed his disciples’ feet, and gave a new commandment—to love one another as he has loved us.
This service invites us into a holy slowing down. Through this time together, we prepare our hearts for the sorrow of Good Friday. Maundy Thursday is a space to rest in the depth of Jesus’ love, to receive grace, and to remember that even in the shadow of the cross, God is present and faithful.
Easter Services | Sunday, April 5 | 9 and 10:45 am | Sanctuary
Join us as we worship our risen savior together!
