Advent means the arrival of something noteworthy.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Creation arrived by his word.
But creation needed redemption because of the fall of man.
God made a promise that one would come to redeem us.
The word, who was in the beginning, took on flesh.
Jesus of Nazareth arrived as a newborn child.
He fulfilled the promise and became our redeemer.
Do we believe him to be our redeemer?
Do we trust in his word?
He said he would come again. And so can we wait knowing that he is good to fulfill his promise?
Holy Spirit.
Emmanuel.
Our Redeemer.
Help us to wait with great anticipation.
Help us to trust in Your promises.
Help us to be found ready at the arrival of our King Jesus.
