HSM is for anyone in grades 9 through 12. We are meet each week at ZPC in the new HSM Room (Room 105) from 4:30-6 pm. We seek to know more about God and what it means to be a Christ follower. We strive to create a space where you can learn about God and experience Christ with peers and cultivate meaningful relationships that lead to long lasting discipleship. Enter through the east doors (Noah's Ark entrance), make a left and we're down the hall on the left.

Very regularly in John’s Gospel, in fact approximately 44 times, Jesus identified Himself as “the Sent One,” or as “the One sent by His Father.” Although He was also identified as “Lord,” “Son of God,” and “Messiah,” most certainly He understood Himself as sent, as The Sent One.

With this view in mind, we will seek to delve into John’s Gospel, consistently asking: To whom was Jesus sent? What message did He bear? And, how will we, as His disciples, apply: “Just as the Father has sent me, so I send you”?

This class is for all who want to grow more deeply in Christ, particularly as we give careful, dialogical thought to Jesus’ words. Or stated differently: Through the Spirit of Christ, we seek to be so shaped by the Scriptures, in order that we might live and think faithfully in a world shaped by forces alien to the Scriptures.

“Moments with Mark” is an opportunity to ponder afresh, with reflection and depth, portions of Mark’s Gospel.

Our mode of study is a simple process of personal study (i.e. reading the text and answering inductive questions), and then moments of interactive dialogue. For our study we use Stan’s working resource: The Great Opening: Mark 1-8. If you have a copy of The Great Opening, then your registration fee will be $15, otherwise it will be $25. The registration includes light evening and morning foods and drinks.

All are welcome, high school and older, and first-time participants are more than welcome.

The season of Lent is a time set aside in the church for spiritual renewal and growing in faith. On Ash Wednesday, which kicks off the Lenten season, we seek a fresh start by saying yes to the Lord’s invitation to walk with him. Though we bring plenty of baggage on our journey, Jesus reminds us that his yoke is easy and his burden is light asking only that we set our hearts on him. This is the goal of our Lenten season: setting our whole selves – heart and mind, body and soul – in complete trust and utter commitment on the Triune God. Make plans to join us on Ash Wednesday at 12 or 6 pm.
